Terror Propagandist Gets 7 Years in Prison

A resident of Shymkent, known for inciting violence and religious-based murders, has been sentenced to 7 years in prison, according to our website reports, citing the KNB's press service.

This individual was found guilty of inciting their surroundings to violence and justifying terrorism. Two other citizens were also sentenced to 7 and 6 years in prison respectively by the courts of Atyrau and Aktobe regions for spreading terrorism among believers. These individuals previously had convictions for common crimes and attempts to travel to terrorist activity zones.

The KNB, in collaboration with the prosecutor's office, has carried out arrests in Astana, Abaiy, Aktobe, and Turkestan regions. Four Kazakh citizens were arrested on suspicion of terrorism propaganda and inciting religious discord, including through social networks.
