Adventurers Face Off at Ancient Doors, Rescue Herbert the Elf
Adventurers, led by Jorgen, found themselves in a tense standoff at a pair of large wooden doors. Meanwhile, Reeva woke up with a sore back before dawn, unaware of the challenges ahead.
Jorgen, quick-thinking, jammed his 10-foot pole through the door handles, barricading them shut. Inside, someone attempted to force their way out, but Jorgen held firm, bluffing them off. Thalmain and Trust provided cover with missile fire as the party dashed across a rope bridge, leaving the guards' bodies tumbling into the chasm below. Another bridge lay ahead, guarded by two more sentries, and giant bats harassed them mid-crossing. Finally, they reached a chapel, where more guards awaited, and Jorgen fell in the ensuing clash.
Beyond the chapel, Herbert the Elf was discovered bound on a sacrificial altar, hidden behind black drapes. The party's journey through the Caverns of Thracia had been fraught with danger, but their resolve remained unbroken.
