In the rural village of Blasbach, located within the Wetzlar vicinity, a chilling morning media frenzy unfolded. At 6:45 AM, a 32-year-old man from the Lahn-Dill district allegedly targeted a 17-year-old girl and severely wounded her while hiding along a pathway near Bechlinger Straße.
Initial reports suggest that the suspect deliberately lay in wait for his unsuspecting victim, striking her with a firearm that left her critically injured. But the story doesn’t end there - authorities claim that after the confrontation, the attacker inflicted self-harm.
Witnesses Summon Emergency Services
A concerned passerby, grabbed by the grim sight of the two desperately injured individuals, immediatly phoned for help. The 17-year-old victim was urgently air-lifted to a local hospital, but sadly succumbed to her fatal injuries. The suspected shooter also wound up in the hospital’s ICU, where his condition remains critical as of now.
The Wetzlar prosecutor’s office is currently delving into the case under suspicion of murder. At present, the relationship between the two and the motivation behind this horrific incident remain shrouded in mystery.
