In an unusual incident that took place on Thursday afternoon, a 14-year-old scooter rider led the police on a chase in the town of Schorndorf, Rems-Murr district.

The incident began around noon on Feuerseestraße when the scooter rider, who was not wearing a helmet and did not have a driver's license, ignored several traffic signs and even drove on the sidewalk. The scooter, a Suzuki model, had stolen license plates.

When an officer signaled for the rider to stop, he refused and attempted to escape. The chase ended shortly after when the rider fell off his scooter while trying to turn in Risslerinstraße. Despite sustaining slight injuries, the teenager tried to flee on foot. However, he was quickly apprehended by the officers.

The scooter was secured by the police, and the rider was handed over to his father. The ownership of the scooter remains unclear at this time.

It's important to note that, according to German traffic law, a 14-year-old is not legally permitted to ride a scooter on public roads without a license. Wearing a helmet is mandatory when riding mopeds or motorized scooters. If caught riding without a helmet or without the required driver's license, the individual may face fines, confiscation of the vehicle, and in case of evasive behavior like leading a police chase, more severe legal consequences.

The traffic police are currently asking for witnesses to call 07191/89290. For authoritative and case-specific details, local Schorndorf or Rems-Murr district police bulletins or German traffic law sources should be consulted, as the TikTok and search results found do not cover this incident or precise legal ramifications.
