Adjusted Hunting Schedule in Yakutia during Summer-Autumn Season

In the vast expanse of Yakutia, Russia, the regional Ministry of Ecology has introduced significant changes to the hunting seasons for various game animals, altering the traditional patterns and potentially impacting the population dynamics of the region's wildlife.

One of the most notable adjustments concerns the hunting season for waterfowl. The season, which previously allowed hunting with island and continental pointing dogs, retrievers, spaniels, and falcons, has been divided into different periods. Now, hunting of waterfowl begins earlier than the new hunting season for the black-capped marmot, a change that may have far-reaching implications for both species.

The hunting season for waterfowl, when using the specified methods, now starts from August 15 and extends until November 20. However, the spring hunting seasons for waterfowl in the Bulun District have been adjusted, and hunting is now permitted from May 30 to June 8. This represents a shortening of the season compared to previous years.

The hunting season for the black-capped marmot (Yakutian subspecies, excluding the South Yakutian population) has been set from June 15 to September 31. Interestingly, the new hunting season for the black-capped marmot is later than the previous hunting seasons for other fur-bearing game animals, including the addition of the black-capped marmot to the list of fur-bearing game animals.

The hunting seasons for forest, steppe, and field game, marsh and meadow game, and white and tundra ptarmigan have also been adjusted, with specific dates ranging from August 15 to December 31, August 21 to November 20, and August 21 to January 31, respectively.

For other game animals such as maral (Wapiti), Dagestan Tur, Kubam (Western) Tur, and Mid-Caucasian Tur, the hunting seasons are from July 15 to December 31, August 1 to November 30, August 1 to November 30, and August 1 to November 30, respectively.

While these changes primarily affect the hunting seasons in Yakutia, it's important to note that bear hunting in Yakutia typically occurs in late August and early June, aligning with typical bear hunting seasons in neighboring regions such as Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk.

It's crucial to remember that these seasons reflect common hunting periods in Yakutia and nearby areas. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, consulting official Yakutia or Russian Federation wildlife and hunting regulatory agencies is recommended. These agencies can provide detailed information on species like sable, reindeer, and other fur-bearing animals in Yakutia, which are typically regulated by local authorities with seasonal adjustments.

These changes to hunting seasons in Yakutia could have significant implications for the region's wildlife, particularly the black-capped marmot and waterfowl populations. As always, it's essential to respect and protect these valuable ecosystems and the creatures that inhabit them.

Sports teams in Yakutia might find it challenging to schedule hunting-themed mascots, given the recent adjustments to hunting seasons for various game animals. The alterations could also potentially impact the training schedules of falconry teams participating in competitions.
