According to the regional sustainable tourism office, the festivities range from single-day community gatherings to sprawling, multi-day festivals.

A Quintessential Small-Town Getaway
Spending the holiday in these charming mountain towns is quite literally the essence of an all-American experience.
Visitors are instantly welcomed as honorary locals as entire communities come together for time-honored traditions.
Look forward to town-wide cookouts, parades featuring vintage cars and local clubs, and dazzling fireworks reflecting off crystal-clear lakes.
Several towns have expanded their celebrations into multi-day events to properly honor the 250th anniversary.
High Peaks and Spectacular F-35 Flyovers
The High Peaks and northern Adirondacks are pulling out all the stops in 2026.
Lake Placid kicks off its July 4th events with a breathtaking F-35 flyover by the Vermont National Guard soaring over the mountains. The day also includes a parade with local Olympians, the annual Lake Placid Horse Show, the Star Spangled Ski Jump event, and fireworks over Mirror Lake.
Nearby Saranac Lake offers a family-focused program, featuring a children's parade and a farmers' market before the evening fireworks light up Lake Flower.
You can also head to Tupper Lake for a sunset concert, catch a parade in Jay, or enjoy a massive community gathering on Marcy Field in Keene on July 3.
Multi-Day Festivals Around Lake Champlain
History buffs and festival lovers will find plenty to enjoy in the eastern Adirondacks.
Ticonderoga hosts the massive "Best 4th in the North" celebration from July 2–5.
Meanwhile, Fort Ticonderoga presents a three-day historical immersion tied to the 250th anniversary.
In Essex, a two-day extravaganza on July 3–4 features a fun run, a festive boat parade, and a stunning fireworks display over Lake Champlain.
Westport joins in with a full day of activities on July 4, culminating in fireworks right on the shore.
Celebrations in the Central and Southern Adirondacks
The festivities in Hamilton County and the Adirondack Hub region are just as impressive.
The town of Inlet rivals Lake Placid with its own July 4th lineup, complete with games, an F-35 flyover, and fireworks over Fourth Lake.
Speculator has planned a huge two-day event, while Long Lake delivers fun with bed races, live music, and fireworks at the town beach.
Over in the Adirondack Hub, Schroon Lake hosts its 70th annual parade.
