In a heartfelt tribute, Adam Sandler's latest movie, Hubie Halloween, paid homage to the late Cameron Boyce. The 2020 comedy film, which stars Sandler as Hubie Dubois, a man trying to protect his town during Halloween night, also recognised Boyce's talent and kindness.

Boyce, who passed away unexpectedly in July 2019 at the age of 20, was originally set to have a role in the film. His absence was acknowledged in the credits with a poignant message: "In loving memory of Cameron Boyce, gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day."

The credit message also noted that Boyce was missed every day and expressed deep condolences for his family. Sandler, who formed a close bond with Boyce while working together on the movie Grown Ups, paid tribute to the young star on Instagram following his death, expressing his love, care, and admiration for Boyce.

Sandler has always found ways to keep Boyce's memory alive. In Happy Gilmore 2, a scene features an episode of Jessie, a Disney Channel series that Boyce starred in. This subtle nod to Boyce was not missed by his mother, Libby Boyce, who reacted to it on Instagram on July 28.

Boyce reprised his role in the sequel to Grown Ups, and his bond with Sandler was rooted in their shared authenticity, humour, and realness. His passing was due to epilepsy, as confirmed by his family spokesperson, who also revealed that Boyce passed away in his sleep due to a seizure caused by an ongoing medical condition.

Hubie Halloween is not the first time Sandler has honoured Boyce posthumously. His memory continues to live on, not just in the hearts of those who knew him, but also in the films he graced with his talent.
