The T100 Triathlon World Tour made a splash in London this year, with the event taking place in the iconic London Royal Docks area. The race, which consists of a 2km swim, an 80km bike ride, and an 18km run, offered a spectator-friendly, multi-lap course in some of the city's most famous locations.
The swim leg of the T100 Triathlon took place in the Royal Victoria Dock, with the water temperature typically ranging from 18-24°C, making wetsuits mandatory. The bike course was a flat one, consisting of eight 10km laps along the Thames, heading west from the docks and turning around near the O2 Arena. The run course was five loops around Royal Victoria and Royal Albert Docks, finishing indoors at the ExCeL Centre.
In the men's race, Hayden Wilde from New Zealand made a remarkable comeback to win the London race. Despite difficult conditions, Wilde, a two-time Olympic medallist, impressed the London crowd with a dominant performance. In the women's race, Lucy Charles-Barclay from Great Britain clinched the win, taking her first win of the T100 season.
