Adam Larsson reaches 1,000 NHL games in milestone Kraken showdown
Seattle Kraken defenceman Adam Larsson will play his 1,000th NHL game on Tuesday against the Florida Panthers. The milestone marks a long career spanning 15 seasons, with stops in New Jersey, Edmonton, and Seattle. Teammates honoured him with custom T-shirts ahead of the big night.
The Kraken celebrated Larsson's achievement with special shirts featuring three photos of him. The words '1000 Games' and his name were printed alongside the logos of the Kraken, Devils, and Oilers—his three NHL teams. Some players even cut their shirts into his signature 'V-neck' style.
Larsson spoke about the milestone after the Kraken's morning skate on Tuesday. He admitted he never expected to reach 1,000 games when he started. Drafted fourth overall by the Devils in 2011, he spent five seasons each with New Jersey and Edmonton before joining Seattle. Now in his fifth year with the Kraken, the 33-year-old called these last five seasons the most enjoyable of his career. His consistency and leadership have made him a key figure in Seattle's defence.
The game against Florida will be Larsson's 1,000th in the NHL. His teammates' tributes and his own reflections highlight the respect he's earned over 15 years. The milestone comes as he continues to contribute at a high level for the Kraken.
