Adam Deacon accuses BAFTA of silencing him after Noel Clarke controversy
Actor Adam Deacon has accused BAFTA of leaving him out of a video montage following the Noel Clarke allegations.
The actor won the Rising Star Award in 2012, and appeared in Kidulthood and sequel Adulthood alongside Clarke. He has repeatedly spoken out against his co-star, notably in the wake of allegations of sexual assault, sexual harassment and bullying against Clarke from numerous women.
The claims first surfaced in 2021, with BAFTA subsequently suspending Clarke's membership and his Outstanding Contribution to Cinema award at the time was withdrawn. At the time, Clarke said he 'vehemently [denies] any sexual misconduct or wrongdoing'.
Deacon has previously shared support for the accusers, while also claiming he himself had tried to highlight his 'sociopathic' behaviour, only to be dismissed, and alleged that Clarke had 'sabotaged' his career in a way that led to 'the complete breakdown of my mental health'.

"So, I was right again. I was the only actor left out of the montage section of the BAFTA Rising Star Award," he wrote on X. "I would love to know the reason behind this. What did I do wrong?
"Because I exposed a sexual predator? If I hadn't, more women would have been put in danger. The laws around filming nudity scenes in the UK and US have now been changed. Positive action has been taken. But yet, I'm the bad person... All this because I exposed this nonsense. But yet I have been banished from the BAFTAs. Honestly, this industry is a joke. From now on, I'll just do me."
