Adam Boqvist claims first Iron Man Mask in Islanders' win over Panthers

New York Islanders defenceman Adam Boqvist earned his first Iron Man Mask after Saturday's 5-2 victory over the Florida Panthers. The award marks his growing role in the team, with this season seeing two Islanders players claim the honour. His performance included a personal milestone—facing his brother Jesper Boqvist on the opposing side. Boqvist logged 12:07 of ice time during the match, recording one shot on goal and three total attempts. This was his fourth straight game, the third time this season he has achieved such consistency. On defence, he paired with Scott Mayfield, contributing to the team's solid play.

The Iron Man Mask, previously held by teammate Casey Cizikas, now belongs to Boqvist for the first time. His brother, Jesper, plays for the Panthers, adding a family rivalry to the contest. This season, Boqvist joins Simon Holmstrom as the second Islander to win the award—Holmstrom has claimed it three times.

The win strengthens Boqvist's position in the Islanders' lineup, with his recent streak of appearances highlighting his reliability. The Iron Man Mask now sits with two different Islanders this season, reflecting the team's depth. Boqvist's next challenge will be maintaining this form in upcoming games.
