In 1992, Valerie snagged an Emmy for Best Actress in a Dramatic Series for her gripping role as Eve in the dark comedy "Northern Exposure." But it was her role in the daytime soap opera "The Doctors" (1979–81) that first brought her fame.

Throughout her illustrious career, Valerie graced numerous television screens, with notable appearances on shows like "ER," "The Man in the High Castle," "Glee," and "Desperate Housewives," where she captivated audiences as Alma Hodge.
