Galina Tikhonova, Yakutia's radiant actress, left an indelible mark on the region's silver screen and left us far too soon. Her legacy lives on, despite her untimely passing on December 23, 2018, at just 31 years old.
Born on June 21, 1987, in the picturesque village of Tabaga, Megino-Kangalassky District, Galina's story is a testament to raw talent and ambition. In 2010, she graced the stage after graduating from the acting department of AGIJK (Aleksandr Gerasimov Yakutia State Institute of Culture and Arts).
One of Galina's last roles was in the thought-provoking short film "Dyol," directed by the respected Vladimir Munkuev. In a strange twist of fate, her character met her end on screen, a fate that seemed to follow some of her co-stars. After completing the film, actor Igor Govarov was dismissal from a theater, Prokopy Danilov was convicted for a fatal assault on a 68-year-old pensioner, and, tragically, Galina lost her life to an asthma attack.
Another intriguing synchronicity: In the film "My Killer," by Costa Marsa, Galina played a pair of spectral sisters—one of whom perished. In the movie "Suol" (2012), directed by Mikhail Lukachevsky, Galina starred as the specter of a young woman in an abandoned house, reuniting with a male ghost to settle unresolved issues after a car crash.
