Actors Hayley Atwell and Rupert Everett announced as season 2 guest stars on Disney+'s show "Rivals"

The highly anticipated second season of "Rivals," one of Disney+'s most popular British original dramas, is set to premier soon. This new season promises to deliver heightened power struggles and deeper rivalries among its characters, as careers, marriages, and reputations are at stake.

"Rivals" is based on Jilly Cooper's bestselling novel and is executive produced by Dominic Treadwell-Collins, Alexander Lamb, Felicity Blunt, Elliot Hegarty, Laura Wade, Jilly Cooper, and Jonny Richards for Disney+ EMEA scripted content. The production, part of ITV Studios, is currently shooting in the U.K.

Returning for the second season are Wendy Albiston, Jamie Bisping, Denise Black, and David Calder, among others. New cast members include Maxim Ays, Holly Cattle, Oliver Dench, Amanda Lawrence, Bobby Lockwood, Eliot Salt, Jonny Weldon, Hayley Atwell, and Rupert Everett.

Atwell has been cast as Helen Gordon, the ex-wife of Rupert Campbell-Black and mother to his children Marcus and Tabitha. Everett, on the other hand, has been cast as Malise Gordon, the husband of Helen Gordon and the former riding instructor and mentor of Rupert Campbell-Black.

Malise Gordon is a former show-jumping coach, adding an intriguing dynamic to the series. The complex relationships between these characters will undoubtedly be a major focus in the upcoming season.

The second season of "Rivals" will expand to 12 episodes, providing viewers with more in-depth exploration of the power struggles and rivalries. Eliza Mellor serves as series producer for the second season.

For those who have not yet seen the first season, it is currently available to stream on Disney+. The second season of "Rivals" will return to Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ in the U.K. and internationally.
