Actors Ben Stiller and Jessica Chastain to Headline Apple Limited Series 'The Off Weeks'
Apple TV+ has announced the greenlighting of a new limited series titled 'The Off Weeks.' The show, produced by Apple Studios and Wiip, will follow the life of a recently divorced professor named Gus Adler, played by Ben Stiller.
Gus struggles to hold things together during his 'on weeks' when he has custody of his kids, but during his 'off weeks,' he falls in love with Stella West, played by Jessica Chastain.
The show is executive produced by Alissa Nutting and Michael Showalter, who also developed the project through Showalter's Semi-Formal Productions. Nutting will serve as showrunner on the series.
Stiller, who is also directing the documentary Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost for Apple TV+, will star in 'The Off Weeks' alongside Chastain. John Lesher of Red Hour, Kelly Carmichael of Freckle Films, Jordana Mollick of Semi-Formal Productions, Paul Lee and Gabriel Fisher for Wiip, Peter Principato, Allen Fischer, and Brian Steinberg of Artists First, and Dean Bakopoulos are also executive producers on the series.
In addition to 'The Off Weeks,' Chastain will star in an art-world drama called 'The Dealer' at Apple TV+, separate from 'The Off Weeks.' Jason Momoa is not involved in 'The Off Weeks.'
Michael Showalter will direct 'The Off Weeks,' with both Stiller and Chastain serving as executive producers. The production companies for 'The Off Weeks' are Wiip and Apple Studios, with additional production from Red Hour, Freckle Films, and Semi-Formal Productions.
Chastain, Stiller, Showalter, Nutting, and Bakopoulos are all represented by various talent agencies and management companies. 'The Off Weeks' is set to be a compelling and heartfelt limited series that promises to captivate audiences.
