Is Jeremy Strong set to assume the role of Mark Zuckerberg? - ActorJeremy Strong set to portray Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg
The world of Hollywood is abuzz with news about the highly anticipated sequel to the 2010 film, "The Social Network." Titled "The Social Network Part II," the film is set to delve into Facebook's controversies around 2021, based on the investigative series "The Facebook Files" by Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horowitz.
According to recent reports, Jeremy Strong (46), known for his intense and captivating performances in shows like "Succession," is the top choice to play the role of Mark Zuckerberg. While negotiations are ongoing, no official offer has been made at this time.
In the original film, Jesse Eisenberg (41) portrayed the young Zuckerberg and received an Oscar nomination for his performance. However, it appears that Eisenberg has passed on returning for the sequel.
Aaron Sorkin (64), the acclaimed writer and director of the original film, is set to write and direct the sequel as well. Sorkin has been searching for the right approach to continue the Facebook story for years, and it seems he has found it with "The Social Network Part II."
The film is not expected to be a direct sequel but a standalone story. Other actors, such as Jeremy Allen White (34) and Mikey Madison (26), are also in talks for key roles, but like Strong, their casting has not been officially confirmed.
"Deadline" reported in June that Sorkin would be directing the sequel, and if Strong's negotiations are successful, it seems he will take on the role of Meta CEO and Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg.
In the original film, David Fincher (62) directed "The Social Network," which was a critical and commercial success, grossing approximately $226 million worldwide and winning three Oscars. With Sorkin back at the helm and Strong in talks for the lead role, expectations are high for "The Social Network Part II."
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development in the world of film.

- I'm not entirely sold on this news yet, but if Jeremy Strong indeed takes on the role of Mark Zuckerberg in "The Social Network Part II," it could make for an interesting turn in the movies-and-tv world of entertainment.
- Despite the anticipated sequel to "The Social Network," I'm not going to be a big fan of this until we hear more definitive details about the cast and plot, particularly concerning the portrayal of Facebook's controversies around 2021.
