Wolfgang Hepp, a renowned German actor known for his long-standing role in the popular series "The Fallers," is set to leave the show due to health reasons and age. This marks the end of an era for the Black Forest series, which has been a staple on German television for over three decades.

Born in 1941 in Singen, Baden-Württemberg, near Lake Constance, Hepp has made a significant impact on "The Fallers" with his portrayal of Hermann Faller, a character he has embodied since the show's premiere in 1994. Hermann Faller is not just the family patriarch and mayor, but also a farmer, a role Hepp has brought to life with his acting skills.

Hepp's final appearance as Hermann Faller will be in episode 1299, titled "Cooking Duel," which is expected to air next year on April 19 at 7:15 PM on SWR. SWR Director Kai Gniffke paid tribute to Hepp, stating, "31 years is an impressive run: We pay tribute to a legend."

"The Fallers," Germany's longest-running weekly series on television, has consistently attracted an average of 1.25 million TV viewers nationwide. The series, which premiered on September 25, 1994, is currently in its 31st year and SWR broadcasts 40 new episodes each year.

Hepp's departure from "The Fallers" marks a new beginning for the series, with a new generation taking over the reins. The episodes featuring Hepp's final performance are available for preview in the ARD Mediathek.

In addition to his role in "The Fallers," Hepp is also known for his role as Chief Inspector Wolf in the Ludwigshafen "Tatort" with Ulrike Folkerts. He began his acting career after training at the Otto Falckenberg School of Acting in Munich and has worked at theaters in Ulm, Kassel, and Düsseldorf, among others.

As Hepp prepares to bid farewell to "The Fallers," fans can look forward to his final performance as Hermann Faller in "Cooking Duel." It's a bittersweet goodbye to a character that has been both a blustering patriarch and a quiet observer over the years.

Movies-and-TV enthusiasts may anticipate Wolfgang Hepp's final appearance as Hermann Faller in "The Fallers" in the upcoming episode "Cooking Duel," marking his exit from the long-running series. This iconic series, a staple in German entertainment, consistently offers engaging content for its viewers.
