In an interview with British GQ, Holland expressed his need to "take a bit more time off" and mentioned that he feels "really blessed to be at a point in my career where I can take time off, reset, and come back ready to go."

He will star alongside Zendaya in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," a highly anticipated film that also features Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as the MCU's Hulk, and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. Additionally, Holland will play Telemachus in Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," due in theaters on July 17, 2026.
Holland is also working on the film American Speed, a true story about three racecar driver brothers (Don, Bill, and Dale Whittington) and the 1980s International Motor Sports Association scandal. He will share the screen with Austin Butler.
This break follows a recent pause Holland took in 2023 due to the emotional toll of filming and producing the Apple TV+ series "The Crowded Room." Holland had difficulty filming the series and revealed that he needs to "take a bit more time off."
