Fast forward a few years, and it appears his love affair with Dylan is still going strong. Last December, the 29-year-old actor shared a heartfelt Instagram post, thanking his companions for the seven-year journey he took to embody the young Bob Dylan in the film "A Complete Unknown." The post featured a picture of Chalamet wearing none other than a denim jacket once sported by Dylan himself in 1987, starring in the film "Hearts of Fire."
A Piece of Rock History in Chalamet's Closet
"If something takes longer than seven years, it's not just a phase—it's part of my life now," wrote Chalamet in his post. And almost as if his words were prophetic, the vintage denim jacket became part of his collection when he snagged it at an online auction for a cool $25,400 (approximately €23,300). If you're wondering who the lucky seller was, well, the search results aren't talking—guess that's one secret Dylan's keeping!
Interestingly, the movie "Hearts of Fire" was a mixed bag. Although Dylan received praise for his acting debut, the film received less-than- stellar reviews and didn't make much of a splash at the box office. But we all know that legendary status isn't built on commercial success alone!
Chalamet Fans Hanker for More Dylan Biopics
Fans of both Chalamet and Dylan can't get enough of this unique collaboration. As one Reddit user put it, "The 'Hearts of Fire' remake, which we didn't know we needed—but now we want to see!" Another suggested that Chalamet should embark on a series of films chronicling Dylan's life, releasing a film at each significant point in time.
In his Instagram post, Chalamet extended thanks to director James Mangold, co-stars Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro, and other film collaborators. But what about those thank-you shoutouts to musicians Finneas and James Blake? Were they music coaches? Bandmates? Time will tell!
