Actor Tim Robards and April Rose Pengilly from the show Neighbours join forces in a gruesome horror movie production
In the world of Australian soap operas, two beloved characters recently bid farewell to their fans. Tim Robards, known for his role as Pierce Greyson on Neighbours, and Lynne McGranger, who played Irene Roberts on Home and Away, have moved on to new projects.
Robards, who stepped away from Neighbours shortly after his character's separation from April's character, is now starring alongside Pengilly in the horror film "Drax". The monstrous force in the film is played by the film's writer and director, James Demitri.
Robards and Pengilly first worked together on Neighbours from 2018 to 2020, initially playing lovers and getting married in December 2019. Their on-screen romance ended in 2020 after cracks appeared in their union due to storylines involving loss, betrayal, and distance.
Off-screen, Robards is living a happy life with his wife, Anna, whom he met on The Bachelor in 2013. The couple is blessed with two daughters, Elle (3 years old) and Ruby (1 year old).
Demitri's "Drax" is a moody Sydney-shot horror-grindhouse with a contemporary spin on the vampire genre. It explores the question of who is the real monster when the mask comes off, delving into regrets and how they shape people.
McGranger's departure from Home and Away at the end of 2020 was met with criticism from fans, who felt that her final scenes lacked the emotional depth that her character deserved.
Interestingly, Robards originally joined the Neighbours cast in 2018 for a short guest role, but his popularity led to the part being expanded into a regular role.
As both Robards and McGranger embark on new ventures, their fans eagerly await their next appearances on the small screen.
