Light-Hearted Take:

Yeah, ol' Sam Elliott, the silver-haired, whiskey-voiced fella, was recently seen chilling at Joe T's, Fort Worth's favorite celebrity magnet Mexican restaurant. The restaurant shared a snap of the 80-year-old cowboy icon embracing Zurella Lancarte, a relative of the eatery's founding family. The caption said something about bumping into legends, and we're not just talking about the Chili Con Queso here!

Over the years, this place has witnessed the likes of Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, and even The King, Elvis Presley. But recently, it's been buzzing about the return of one of its favorite customers, Sam Elliott. You know, the guy who's been keeping modern westerns alive.

So, what's the deal? Well, Billy Bob Thornton spilled the beans that Sam'll be joining the crew in the second season of Landman, Taylor Sheridan's Texas oil drama on Paramount+. Now, if you ain't heard of it, Landman is inspired by Christian Wallace's Texas Monthly podcast, Boomtown. It's all about the West Texas oil industry, the political power plays, and how it's shaped the culture of the Permian Basin. With Demi Moore and Jon Hamm tagging along, it's shaping up to be one wild ride!

Filming for the new season kicked off in early April. The first season had some iconic Fort Worth locations, like the Petroleum Club, Hotel Drover in the Stockyards, and Texas Christian University's track-and-field complex. Expect more of that authentic Texas flair this time around!

Landman isn't just a one-time rodeo for Sam. He's teamed up with Billy Bob and Taylor Sheridan before, in 1883, the Yellowstone prequel. Looks like they make a winning team, cowboy style!

Arts Access brought you this exclusive scoop, and we couldn't be more excited to see what trouble Sam gets into this time around! Remember, this is just a taste of what's to come, folks. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates!
