Slap some lipstick on it! At the prime age of 58, the spicy Mexican-American actress, Salma Hayek Pinault, is gracing the cover of the coveted Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated Magazine this year. And to add even more sizzle, she's joined by four other fierce females. Back in her youthful days, Salma would get a kick out of flipping through the pages of SI, pondering who'd be the next cover beauty. Little did she know she'd soon join the ranks herself!

This gotta-be-kidding-me moment struck Salma during a jaw-dropping beachside photoshoot in her motherland, Mexico. Famed Colombian photographer Ruven Afanador (65) captured her sun-kissed glory, and the luxurious Cuixmala resort was the backdrop for their epic collaboration. Salma held her ground and declared, "Times have changed, and that's groovy!" She finds it fantabulous that a badass mag like Sports Illustrated is breaking boundaries, featuring sex-sated seniors who flaunt their stuff in all its glory.

Imposter Syndrome, Schmimposter Syndrome

Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin welcomed the goddess of cover shots, Salma Hayek, to the celebrated Today Show to confess the juicy details, intel, and diet secrets behind her mesmerizing, Malibu Barbie-esque transformation.

As the unforgettable day approached, Salma admitted that she'd struck gold but experienced an exasperating case of imposter syndrome. Even after saying yes to the fabulous invite, she wavered, questioning if her bod would measure up, causing her to consider cancelling the session. To her relief, Sports Illustrated sent over 200 swimsuits for Salma to try on in LA. With a gleam in her eye, she commented, "I tried out approximately 100 of them, and many of them needed a tailor-made adjustment!"

Still not confident enough, Salma packed the remaining suits for her sojourn to Mexico. Sadly, they fell victim to the Airline Loser Club. Despair set in, but the angels of serendipity sent in reinforcements, as a bevy of backups were on hand for the grand photo fest. Thank gawd, huh?

The Whale that Heard Her Cry

But then...a serendipitous seismic shift occurred: during one of the early beachy shots, a whale breached behind her. "You can call me Ariel," Salma exclaimed, "for I felt like this was a magical moment! I'm 58 and creating history, it's like a dream come true! Many Mexicanas of my generation thought we'd be obsolete by 35, but here I am dancing my a$$ off to Bad Bunny's beats!"

Hayek Pinault shares the cover spotlight with four other marvelous models: gymnast Jordan Chiles (24), gym-fluencer Olivia Dunne (22), and plus-size model Lauren Chan.
