Patrick Adiarte, the unforgettable Filipino dancer and actor, who charmed audiences with his roles as cabin boy Ho-Jon on MASH and tour guide in the Brady Bunch*, breathed his last on April 15, after a bout with pneumonia. He was a sprightly 82.

Stepping onto the stage of life on August 2, 1943, amidst the chaos of Manila, Adiarte, a fighter at heart, overcame adversity even at a tender age. Tragedy struck when his family was imprisoned by the Japanese on Cebu Island during World War II. His mother and sister were captured, and his father, working as a captain for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, was killed.

Adiarte's journey to the United States brought him the opportunity to shine on Broadway, playing Prince Chulalongkorn in The King And I and Wang San in the stage and film adaptation of Flower Drum Song. He also graced the screen as college student T.J. Padmanagham in the Blake Edwards comedy High Time. On television, he danced his way into audiences' hearts as a regular on Hullabaloo. And who could forget his role in the 1961 TV adaptation of The Enchanted Nutcracker, where he played the Prince, sharing the screen with Robert Goulet and Carol Lawrence.

Adiarte's versatility shone through in his television appearances. He intrigued viewers with mysterious roles on shows like It Takes a Thief, Ironside, Bonanza, and Kojak, before capturing their hearts with his funny and endearing performances on MASH and The Brady Bunch*.

Music was another of Adiarte's passions, and in 1965, he released the single "Five Different Girls", among other tracks. After his television role in Kojak in 1974, Adiarte retired from the screen and took up dance instruction.

Adiarte was wed to the lovely actress, Loni Ackerman, from 1975 to 1992. He leaves behind his niece and nephew to carry on his legacy.
