Actor Patricia Richardson, renowned for her role in Home Improvement, undergoes significant transformation prior to the show's reunion
In a nostalgic twist, the cast of the iconic '90s sitcom Home Improvement will reunite with leading man Tim Allen for the Season 2 premiere of his current series, Shifting Gears. The reunion, which was featured as a special segment, brought back Patricia Richardson (Jill Taylor), Richard Karn (Al Borland), Debbe Dunning (Heidi Keppert), and even 'Tool Time girl' Debbe Dunning for a playful celebration of the legacy of Home Improvement.
The reunion, however, was missing some key cast members, notably the on-screen children from Home Improvement – Brad (Zachery Ty Bryan), Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), and Mark (Taran Noah Smith) – due in part to Zachery Ty Bryan's legal troubles in recent years.
Patricia Richardson, now 74, added a touch of glamour to the reunion with her luxurious white mane, a stark contrast to her signature shoulder-length brown hair and bangs. Richardson had previously stated there would "never" be a Home Improvement reunion, making this event particularly significant for fans.
Interestingly, Richardson accused Tim Allen of lying to people about the possibility of a revival during her appearance on the Back to the Best podcast. She also denied rumors of a full-blown Home Improvement reboot and a separate reboot featuring Jill Taylor as the main character.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas, who played middle child Randy, is more interested in directing and writing than acting these days. Taran Noah Smith, who played youngest son Mark, is no longer an actor. Zach Ty Bryan, who played oldest son Brad, is a felon due to charges related to domestic violence and driving under the influence.
