Get ready for a dose of nostalgia! Over four decades ago, Matthew Broderick (63) and Alan Ruck (68) stole the show as the leading stars of the '80s cult classic "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (1986). Now, these long-time friends are set to take the comedy world by storm once more with a new buddy-movie venture. According to Deadline.com, they are in talks for the film project "The Best Is Yet To Come". Allan Loeb ("Rock of Ages") will be penning the script, while Jon Turteltaub ("Last Vegas", "Meg") is slated to direct.

The film is an American adaptation of the French comedy "Le meilleur reste à venir" (2019), which Til Schweiger previously brought to the big screen in Germany as a remake titled "Das Beste kommt noch!" in 2023.

A French Twist

The narrative revolves around best friends who, after a significant misunderstanding, believe that one of them has only a few months left to live. The two men, one a playboy, the other more traditional, are polar opposites. Together, they embark on a series of adventures, celebrating their friendship and life before it's too late.

Dimitri Rassam, the French producer of the original film, will be aboard as an executive producer for this project. Filming could potentially commence as early as this summer.

A Revisit of the Iconic High School Prankster

In John Hughes' comedy hit "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", the young Broderick played the charming, school-averse Ferris Bueller. Ferris and his best friend, Alan Ruck's Cameron, along with Sloane (played by Mia Sara), embarked on a wild day of mischief in Chicago, only for things to spiral out of control in the end.
