In an exciting development, it has been announced that Kit Harington will star in a four-part adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novel, "A Tale of Two Cities". Filming for this historical blockbuster is set to begin in October 2023.

The series, produced by Thriker Films and Daniel West, will be executive produced by Polly Williams and Sarah Best for Federation Stories, and Léo Becker for Federation Studio France. The production is also set to feature Francois Civil and Mirren Mack in supporting roles.

Set in London, 1782, during the war between France and Britain, the twisting period thriller will have a contemporary feel. The story will depict the lives of its characters as they navigate through triumphs, tragedies, marriage, and murder.

At the heart of the story lies a complex love triangle between Lucie Manette, Charles Darnay, and Sydney Carton. Darnay, played by Harington, is a messenger who receives a message from Paris suggesting her father may be alive. However, his arrival in London is not without consequence, as he is quickly arrested and charged with treason.

In an attempt to free Darnay, Lucie enlists the help of a lawyer named Sydney Carton. Despite their physical similarities, Darnay and Carton have contrasting spirits, creating a volatile and influential love triangle.

Throughout the series, neither Darnay nor Carton can escape each other's presence as they both compete for Lucie's love. The love triangle is described as a heartbreaking romance intertwined with a brutal revenge mystery.

The adaptation of Dickens' novel will air on the BBC in the UK and MGM+ in the US. The series is expected to be released in late 2026 or 2027.

Harington, along with the executive producers, expresses his excitement about bringing Dickens' work to the screen. "A Tale of Two Cities" promises to be an unforgettable adaptation that will captivate audiences worldwide.
