Title: Blake Lively Drops Two Claims Against Justin Baldoni: A Twist in the Ongoing Legal Saga

Inside Scoop Facebook Twitter WhatsApp Email Print Copy Link The hotly contested legal battle between actress Blake Lively and her former co-star Justin Baldoni is far from over. However, a surprising turn of events has shaken things up.

The wrangling between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni continues to make headlines. According to U.S. reports, Lively is set to scrap two accusations against the actor and director - namely, deliberate mental anguish and reckless infliction of emotional suffering. As reported by industry magazine "Variety," these claims were claimed to have been caused by Baldoni's actions.

Baldoni's team has demanded access to Lively's medical records to bolster their case. Their argument is that these records will substantiate claims that Lively's emotional distress was not of their client's doing. They are, therefore, pushing to access Lively's therapy records, among other documents. Instead, Lively's legal team contacted Baldoni's representatives to confirm their client's intention to drop the emotional distress claims.

Lawyers Cry Foul: A Publicity Stunt?

Lively's lawyers, Mike Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, have warned that Baldoni's team is attempting to use the request for medical records as a publicity stunt aimed at complicating the case. They express the desire to streamline the legal battle and focus on the core issues. While Baldoni's team has yet to comment on this claim, the court still has to decide on the matter.

In the U.S., medical records are frequently requested when emotional distress claims are central to a lawsuit. This legal spat between Lively and Baldoni involves six separate lawsuits in total.

The Lowdown: A Rocky Road behind the Scenes

The conflict brewed during the filming of the movie "It Ends with Us," where Lively and Baldoni shared leading roles and Baldoni served as director. The film premiered in theaters in the summer of 2024. In December, Lively lodged a complaint with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, alleging sexual harassment and a calculated smear campaign against her. Baldoni promptly countered these charges with a $400 million lawsuit, accusing Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds of defamation and extortion. The trial is scheduled to commence in March 2026.

By the Way,- Sexual harassment claims remain among the allegations in the lawsuit but were not mentioned in the recent reports.[1]- It's vital to note that the judge has ruled in favor of Lively, allowing her to withhold her medical records, but emphasized that the dismissal of the emotional distress claims must be finalized as either with or without prejudice, meaning Lively may potentially refile these claims if both parties don't agree to its finality.[2][3]

I'm not sure if the request for medical records from Blake Lively's team is a genuine attempt to strengthen Justin Baldoni's case or a strategic move to attract attention in the entertainment world. Despite this uncertainty, the court still needs to rule on the matter.
