Authorities have confirmed that Osment was arrested and charged with public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance, presumably cocaine.

In a heartfelt statement to People magazine, Osment expressed profound remorse for his actions. He acknowledged, "I'm absolutely horrified by my behavior. Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner." Osment went on to confess that recent personal struggles, including losing his home in the 2025 Eaton Fire, have left him in a low emotional state.
However, Osment emphasized, "But that's no excuse for using this disgusting word." He then humbly apologized to everyone offended, stating, "What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage - I've let the Jewish community down and it devastates me."
Despite the shocking incident, Osment has continued to act in projects such as "Poker Face" and "Blink Twice." His sister, Emily, also an actor, announced on her verified Instagram in January that their family had lost their homes in the Eaton wildfire.
Osment was charged with two misdemeanors: disorderly conduct and possession of cocaine, according to the Mono County District Attorney's office. He is scheduled for arraignment on July 7. As of now, there has been no comment from Osment's representatives.
