Straight Up: Haley Joel Osment Dodges Jail Time due to AA Meetings and Therapy

Actor from "The Sixth Sense" faces attendance at Alcoholics Anonymous.

Scuttlebutt If You're Home Alone: A Tale of Haley Joel Osment's Troubles That '90s kid you remember from The Sixth Sense? Yep, Haley Joel Osment. Well, looks like he's landed himself in some hot water - or shall we say, cold snow - up in Mammoth Mountain, California.

Back in April, this former child star was caught skiing, under the influence, no less! Not just any drunken skiing adventure though. After his arrest, prescription drugs and some unsavory language towards the cops were also found on him.

On June 2, Osment faced the music in court. But hold on, because the judge didn't see things exactly how the District Attorney did. Overriding the DA's wishes, our star avoided a potential jail sentence. Instead, he was handed a year's probation. Imagine that!

Gossip Galore Red Mountain High As part of his probation, Osment has to toe the line real tight. This means he's required to attend at least three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week for the next six months. That's a lot of AA action, folks! He's also gotta meet with his therapist at least twice a week during this period and, naturally, obey all the laws.

If Osment manages to stick to this rehab-focused program and keep out of trouble, the whole shindig will go down as just a bad memory by January 5, 2026. If he falters, though, expect a return to court.

True Story Buzzed and Confused In court, Osment owned up to his actions, saying he was "shocked at [his] behavior." After all, who knew what a few drinks could lead to? But he did admit that it was "no excuse" for the racial slur he threw at one of the officers. He offered sincere apologies to anyone who was hurt, labeling it as "stupid nonsense."

The Commission might propose a directive to safeguard workers from radiation risks similarly to how Haley Joel Osment is shielded from the repercussions of his actions through court-mandated rehabilitation. Despite his celebrity status, Osment faces the same legal consequences as any ordinary citizen, attending three AA meetings per week and meeting with his therapist twice weekly as a condition of his probation.
