Emily in Paris, the popular Netflix series, is making headlines once again as it gears up for its fifth instalment. The show, known for its vibrant portrayal of life in Paris, will see some changes in its cast this season.

British actor Rupert Everett, who played the eccentric Italian interior designer Giorgio Barbieri in seasons three and four, will not be returning for season five. The showrunners decided to cut his character, a close friend of Sylvie Grateau, for the upcoming season.

Everett revealed in a recent interview with Vanity Fair Italia that although he was initially told they would discuss his return for the next season, he ultimately was not invited back. This decision deeply upset him, and he described the experience as a personal tragedy that left him bedridden for two weeks.

"When they write the screenplay, they think they want you—but then things change, and they lose your character," Everett said.

Joining Everett in his departure is Camille Razat, who played the role of Camille de Lalisse. However, the door has been left open for her potential return in the future.

Despite these changes, fans can look forward to seeing familiar faces. Lily Collins, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, and Lucien Laviscount will reprise their roles in Emily in Paris season five.

As for the release date, it has not yet been announced. However, the series is currently in production, and the fifth instalment of Emily in Paris is expected to air later this year.

With its colourful characters and Parisian charm, Emily in Paris continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Although some beloved characters will be missing this season, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of their favourite Parisians.
