Actor from "Babylon Berlin" to appear in Apolda during early September
Sabin Tambrea, the acclaimed Romanian-born actor and author, will be reading from his novel "Fatherlands" at a musical reading event in Apolda, Germany. The event, scheduled for September 6th at 7 PM in the City Hall, will be accompanied by the Trio Guadagnini.
Tambrea's "Fatherlands", published in 2021, became a Spiegel bestseller and tells a moving story about new beginnings, hardships, and the struggle against the political system under Ceaușescu. The novel explores the history of Tambrea's Romanian-Hungarian family from the perspectives of three generations: himself in his younger years, his father Bela, and his grandfather Horea. "Fatherlands" also includes a fateful love story of Tambrea's parents.
The Trio Guadagnini, consisting of Yannick van de Velde on the piano, Alina Armonas-Tambrea on the violin, and Edvardas Armonas on the cello, will provide the musical backdrop for the event.
Tickets for the event cost 27.90 euros and can be purchased in the Thuringia ticket shop. The event is a cooperation between the Weimarer Land Adult Education Center, the City Hall of Apolda, and the Kunstfest Weimar 2025.
Before pursuing acting, Tambrea began his artistic career as a musician. His diverse roles in TV and film productions, including "Ku'damm", "In a Land That No Longer Exists", "Babylon Berlin", "German House", and "Narciss and Goldmund", have made him a household name in Germany.
In addition to reading from his novel, Tambrea will share his story and sign copies for the audience during the event. For those who missed his previous reading with musical accompaniment, a similar event is expected to take place in September or October 2025, with specific programs announced around that time.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to experience Tambrea's captivating storytelling and the enchanting music of the Trio Guadagnini. Join us on September 6th at 7 PM in the City Hall of Apolda.
