Actor Duryn has returned for another film appearance.
The popular German TV series "The Teacher" ("Der Lehrer") is making a comeback on RTL and RTL+, with actor Hendrik Duryn reprising his role as teacher Stefan Vollmer. The new season, consisting of six episodes, is currently being filmed in Leipzig and will continue until early October 2025.
Stefan Vollmer, who had left teaching and started a new life in Leipzig with his daughter Frida and his own workshop, finds himself pulled back into the classroom due to events such as a stolen wallet, a rebellious pupil, and a forgotten class. The series will delve into his efforts to help a neglected school class where students have lost confidence in themselves.
Vollmer's private life is also stirred by his lively neighbour Nadia, played by Birte Hanusrichter. The new season promises to be an engaging exploration of both Vollmer's professional and personal life.
Hendrik Duryn, who previously played the lead role in "The Teacher" for many years, expressed his joy at returning to the character. The series originally aired on RTL in 2009 and won the German Television Award.
