Domingo Alfaro, a renowned actor from Cuenca, has passed away at the age of 67. His remains will be cremated this Monday.
Throughout his life, Alfaro spent much of his professional life in education, communication, and theater. He began his career as a schoolteacher before venturing into acting. In 2003, he founded 'Trastos Teatro', where he staged several works, including 'Intimate Stories of Paradise', 'Eyes of the Moon', 'Four Interludes and a Soul in Pain', 'Ay, Carmela', 'Variettes', 'The Fantastic Adventure of Bocasana', and his own creations 'Comediantes Bring the Night' and 'Chronicles of a Comedian'.
With 'Trastos Teatro', Alfaro toured much of the province and performed at some international festivals. He also collaborated with other companies, such as 'Engatos', and was responsible for the theatrical guided tours of Calderón de la Barca's refuge for a time.
Before his acting career, Alfaro worked as a salesperson at Onda Cero Cuenca between 1987 and 2014.
Alfaro's cause of death was a lengthy battle against cancer. His wake is being held at the La Alborada crematorium. At the time of his death, he was working on his final project, '¡Ayyyy, vino divino!'.
