Veteran Actor Christian Slater Granted Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
American actor Christian Slater, renowned for his roles in films like "Interview with the Vampire" and "The Name of the Rose," will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 9. The 2,815th star, bestowed for his contributions to television, will be unveiled in a ceremony attended by supporters, including actress Sarah Michelle Gellar and director Michael Lehmann.
Gellar, best known for her role in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," recently shared the screen with Slater in the television series "Dexter: New Blood." In this series, a prequel to the original "Dexter," Patrick Gibson stars as the younger Dexter Morgan, while Slater portrays Harry Morgan, Dexter's adoptive father and a homicide detective.
Director Michael Lehmann, who has directed several episodes of "Dexter: New Blood," is also expected to attend the ceremony. Lehmann previously directed Slater in the 1988 black comedy "Heathers." The cast included Slater, Winona Ryder, and Shannen Doherty.
Slater earned widespread acclaim for his role as Mr. Robot in the USA Network series "Mr. Robot," for which he received a Golden Globe and a Critics' Choice Award in 2016. He also served as a producer on the show, contributing to its Peabody Award, Critics' Choice Award, Golden Globe Award, and AFI Award victories.
In addition to his work on "Mr. Robot," Slater has appeared in films such as "The Wife" and "Pigeon," directed by Zoe Kravitz. Despite his involvement in "Dexter: New Blood," Slater does not appear in the series itself.
