Actor Aamir Khan's payment for his brief appearance in Rajinikanth's film, 'Coolie', has been disclosed, and it contradicts expectations.
In the bustling world of Bollywood, where money often plays a significant role, a unique story unfolds. Actor Aamir Khan, known for his meticulous approach to roles, has made an exceptional move by appearing in Rajinikanth's upcoming film, 'Coolie', without charging a single penny.
According to reports by India Today and other reliable sources close to Aamir Khan, the actor's decision to take on the cameo role was purely out of love and respect for the legendary Rajinikanth. This revelation contradicts earlier rumors suggesting Aamir was paid a whopping Rs 20 crore for the brief role.
India Today clarified through its sources that Aamir chose the role for free, emphasizing his admiration for Rajinikanth rather than financial gain. Aamir himself dismissed these fee rumors in an interview, stating, "I have too much love and respect for Rajinikanth to think about money." He further added that the opportunity to share screen space with the superstar was his real reward.
The massive ensemble cast of 'Coolie', which also includes Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj, received substantial fees for their roles. However, Aamir's participation was an exception, motivated by respect rather than pay.
Aamir confirmed his participation in 'Coolie' during its audio and trailer launch in Hyderabad, expressing his love and respect for the team. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures, promises a cinematic spectacle.
As 'Coolie' gears up for its release on August 14, 2025, it will compete with YRF's 'War 2' in theaters. 'War 2', directed by Ayan Mukerji, stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Despite the fierce competition, Aamir's heartfelt cameo in 'Coolie' is a testament to the actor's unwavering admiration for Rajinikanth and his work.
