The 6th Inclusive Chess Tournament of the State of Saxony-Anhalt is set to take place on September 20, 2025, at the Dr. Tollberg Hall in the Kurpark Schoenebeck-Bad Salzelmen. This year's event is under the patronage of Minister for Work, Social Affairs, Health and Equality, Petra Grimm-Benne, and the State Commissioner for the Affairs of People with Disabilities, Dr. Christian Walbrach.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Work, Social Affairs, Health and Equality of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, dated September 18, 2025, the tournament will commence with admissions from 8:30 AM. Registrations for the tournament are still open.
Last year, two FCM jerseys were auctioned off, with the proceeds going to the Bogensportverein Bördeland for their inclusive projects. This year, the tournament will feature an auction of two sought-after SCM jerseys, with the proceeds set to benefit a local inclusion project.
Lars Johansen, a well-known cabaret artist from Magdeburg, will provide entertainment during the tournament. For queries related to the tournament, Jens Windelband can be contacted at [email protected] or by phone at 0176 58850605.
Minister Grimm-Benne stated that the past five tournaments have shown the combination of inclusion and chess to be successful, and the inclusive chess tournament has become a fixed part, serving as an example of the active participation of all people in social life.
The tournament will be played in the rapid chess format. A symbol photo from Pixabay accompanies this news article.
