The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are set to take place on September 14, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. This highly-anticipated event will see a number of notable nominations, including Beyoncé, who has made history with her first Emmy win.

Beyoncé's Emmy win came in the category of outstanding costume design, a recognition for her innovative and spectacular halftime show during the 2024 NFL Christmas Day game between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. The performance, known as the "Beyoncé Bowl," was streamed on Netflix and drew over 27 million viewers, making it part of the two most-streamed NFL games in history.

The "Beyoncé Bowl" featured all-white Western-inspired costumes reflecting the theme of her "Cowboy Carter" album, marking a visually stunning and elaborate presentation that secured the Emmy for costume design in the category of variety, nonfiction, or reality programming.

In addition to this juried Emmy win (which had no official nominees and is decided by committee), Beyoncé is also nominated in 2025 for best variety special as a producer, and for best direction of a variety special for the same halftime show.

Notably, Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, is competing with her in the same Emmy cycle as an executive producer of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show. Jay-Z’s production is nominated for best variety special and related categories, setting up a direct competition between the couple in 2025.

The "Beyoncé Bowl" took place on December 25, 2022, at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. This victory brings Beyoncé halfway to achieving an EGOT, complementing her 35 Grammy Awards, with the Emmy being the first in that quartet of awards she needs (Tony and Oscar remain).

The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be held in mid-September 2025, promising a night of glamour, recognition, and fierce competition. With Beyoncé's impressive win and additional nominations, the event is sure to be a memorable one.
