Achievement Celebrated: Buckeye Firearms Association Conducts Successful AR-15 Gun Raffle Labeled "Hell Yes"
In a bold move to challenge a statement made by presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke during the September Democratic presidential debate, the Buckeye Firearms Association, an Ohio state gun-rights organization, organized a raffle for an AR-15 prize package.
During the debate, O'Rourke famously declared, "Hell yes, we're going to take your AR-15," reaffirming his commitment to taking firearms from lawful gun owners. In response, the Ohio state Buckeye Firearms Association, established in 2004, initiated the idea for the raffle.
The raffle, named "Beto 'Hell Yes' AR-15 Raffle", was announced on October 14th and sold out the same day, with all 1,000 tickets priced at $25 each. The firearm being raffled is from Faxon Firearms, an Ohio state company in Cincinnati, and the prize package also included various attachments, ammunition, and products from Nine Line Apparel, Black Rifle Coffee, and other pro-Second Amendment companies.
The drawing for the raffle will take place at a later date, and the winning number will be determined by the Ohio Lottery Pick 3. The firearm will be processed through Black Wing Shooting Center, a federally licensed firearms dealer in Delaware, Ohio.
It's worth noting that the winner of the raffle must be an Ohio state resident and in compliance with federal and state laws to lawfully own a gun.
The Ohio state Buckeye Firearms Association, which also operates the Buckeye Firearms Foundation and a political action committee, is hosting a Second Amendment workshop in Columbus on Nov. 14 to encourage gun owners to vote in upcoming elections.
The October Democratic presidential debate, where O'Rourke's statement was made, was located in Westerville, Ohio. The Ohio state Buckeye Firearms Association recently won the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Affiliated Organization of the Year award at the 2019 Gun Rights Policy Conference.
Dean Rieck, Buckeye Firearms Association executive director, stated that the raffle was a success. The funds raised will undoubtedly support the organization's efforts in advocating for gun rights and encouraging responsible gun ownership.
