Accused Individual to Face Legal Proceedings for Allegedly Crashing into Liverpool's Parade Spectators Today in Court
Paul Doyle, the man accused of driving into crowds during Liverpool Football Club's title parade, is preparing for his trial at Liverpool Crown Court.
The latest updates on Doyle's case reveal that he has faced additional charges, bringing the total to 24. These new charges include 23 counts of assault and one count of affray. Notably, six of these charges involve children, including a six-month-old and a seven-month-old baby.
On August 14, 2025, Doyle appeared via videolink from prison at Liverpool Crown Court. The hearing, which was emotional for Doyle, lasted approximately 20 minutes, and he did not enter any pleas. The case has been adjourned until September 4, 2025, when Doyle is expected to enter pleas.
Initially, Doyle was charged with seven offenses, including two counts of wounding with intent, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, and one count of dangerous driving. According to Merseyside Police, more than 130 people, including children, were injured during the incident.
The incident involved Paul Doyle driving his Ford Galaxy vehicle into a crowd. The trial for Doyle's case is provisionally set for November 24, 2025, and is expected to last three to four weeks.
