Bid adieu to Harris Yulin, the Emmy-nominated actor who captivated audiences with his roles in beloved productions such as "Frasier" and "Ghostbusters II", at the age of 87. His manager, Sue Leibman, confirmed the news to CNN, stating he passed away on June 10, 2023, due to cardiac arrest in New York City.

A theatrical powerhouse, Yulin graced the stage numerous times, having played Hamlet off-Broadway three times and appearing in Broadway productions like "Hedda Gabler", "The Price", and "The Visit". He even imparted his wisdom as a teacher at the prestigious Juilliard School for eight years.

Leibman's email revealed that Yulin was actively working on new projects with longtime collaborator Stacy Keach until his death. His theatrical prowess translated beautifully to the big screen, with notable roles in "Looking for Richard" alongside Al Pacino in 1996.

Though known for his fiery portrayal of the angry judge in "Ghostbusters II", Yulin won recognition for his small-screen performance as crime boss Jerome Belasco on "Frasier", getting an Emmy nod in the process. In the days leading up to his death, Yulin was preparing for a significant arc on the upcoming TV series "American Classic" starring Kevin Kline and Laura Linney. The series' director, Michael Hoffman, lauded Yulin as "one of the greatest artists I have ever encountered," expressing gratitude for their collaboration and celebrating his humility, grace, and generosity.

Yulin is survived by his wife, Kristen Lowman, a son-in-law, a nephew, and his godchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, actress Claire Lucido.

Born Harris Bart Goldberg on November 5, 1937, Yulin started his career in the arts with over a hundred roles across film, television, and theater, earning recognition for his remarkable range in dramatic and comedic roles alike. His work will continue to be remembered and cherished for its depth and versatility.

Some of Yulin's notable film roles include "Night Moves", "St. Ives", "Scarface", "Clear and Present Danger", "Looking for Richard", "Training Day", and "Multiplicity". On stage, he made his Broadway debut in Watch on the Rhine and went on to perform in A Lesson from Aloes, The Visit, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Price, and Hedda Gabler. In television, he gained popularity with performances on shows like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Ozark".

Despite his acting success, Harris will be fondly remembered for his theatrical projects and commitment to teaching future generations at Juilliard.
