Acclaimed novelist Dan Brown is experiencing romantic feelings
In the heart of the enchanting city of Prague, American bestselling author Dan Brown revealed his latest thriller, "The Secret of Secrets." The book, set against the backdrop of the city's iconic landmarks, brings back the familiar characters of Robert Langdon and Katherine Solomon.
Robert Langdon, a renowned symbolist and Harvard professor, is romantically involved with Katherine Solomon, a character who specialises in the study of human consciousness. Solomon has recently completed a manuscript for a groundbreaking book, but an unknown person is trying to prevent its publication.
The dramatic scavenger hunt unfolds in the Mirror Chapel of the Clementinum, a former Jesuit college, and numerous references to Prague's sights, including the castle complex on the Hradčany and a Cold War-era underground bunker, are woven throughout the story.
Brown, who is not a religious person, has been working on "The Secret of Secrets" for eight years, dedicating seven days a week to its completion. The novel delves into the question of what happens when we die, a topic that became a personal obsession for Brown after his mother's death from leukemia.
During his visit to Prague, Brown met with Czech President Petr Pavel and was symbolically presented with the city's key by its mayor, Bohuslav Svoboda. The author expressed his love for the city, stating, "I absolutely love this place."
In "The Secret of Secrets," the person who tried to prevent the publication of Solomon's manuscript is a mysterious and powerful figure named Richard Paige. Meanwhile, Langdon's romantic involvement with Solomon takes a backseat as they race against time to uncover the secrets of consciousness and the afterlife.
The book launch for the German edition of "The Secret of Secrets" was held two weeks ago by Bastei Lübbe. Fans of Dan Brown's gripping narratives and intricate puzzles will undoubtedly be eager to unravel the secrets hidden within the pages of this latest offering.
Robert Langdon, however, is engaged to a woman from the Netherlands, according to Brown, so the romantic entanglements in "The Secret of Secrets" may not be as complex as those in previous instalments of the series.
As the story unfolds, readers will be transported to the mesmerising city of Prague, immersing themselves in the rich history, culture, and mystery that the city offers. "The Secret of Secrets" is set to be another captivating addition to Dan Brown's illustrious bibliography.
