Acclaimed F1 Academy Driver Lia Block Reveals Her Beauty Rituals in Detail
Formula One racing sensation Lia Block divulges her skincare routine amidst her busy race schedule. As a driver for Williams F1 team, Block navigates seven rounds of races in the F1 Academy, an initiative aimed at making motorsport more diverse and inclusive for women. The 18-year-old athlete finds time off the track to explore her interests, one of them being makeup and skincare.
In an interview, Block shares her journey with skincare, admitting that growing up, she was not exposed to makeup as her mother didn't wear any, and even taught her a few tricks herself. As she got more acquainted with the industry, she found herself learning about various products and what works best for her sensitive skin.
Racing at speeds of up to 150 mph with temperatures reaching as high as 120°F takes a toll on the skin, and Block knows it. She avoids makeup during races, keeping her routine minimal and clean. A light moisturizer and lip products are her go-to choices, opting to remove makeup fewer times due to the hassle of taking her helmet on and off.
When it comes to beauty secrets for radiant skin, Block recommends sunscreen, as it's an essential item for her, especially considering her fair complexion that tends to burn rather than tan. Keeping her skin clean is also important to her, as she continues to break out occasionally in sensitive spots like her chin and cheek pieces where the helmet contacts her skin.
Being on the go for different races requires essential skincare products, and Block always carries her Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask wherever she travels. This miracle product, according to her, helps combat dehydrated skin and dry lips, especially beneficial during lengthy flights.
Having a skincare routine on the road helps Block unwind and feel grounded, even amidst constant travel. Her skincare routine consists of cleansing, moisturizing, and masking when she's at home, while a lighter routine of wiping her face with a towel, followed by her full routine once she reaches her hotel, is her routine while on the road.
The Netflix Series F1: The Academy, produced by Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine, is set to release on May 28, showcasing the trials and tribulations of 15 drivers participating in the F1 Academy. Block is among the featured drivers, ready to share her story with audiences.
