Heck of a situation on the A44, huh? Around 6:35 PM, a 26-year-old Ukrainian and his two 17-year-old pals were cruising in a Golf. Suddenly, their front left tire on the driver's side blew out, causing them to pull over near the Düsseldorf-Messe exit.
The driver got out to inspect the damage, and just as he was doing so, a car hitting from the right-hand lane smashed into him. That's when things took a turn for the worst. The culprit behind the wheel stopped around 300 meters further, checked the damage, then took off like nothing happened.
The Golf driver's injuries were so severe that they landed him in the hospital with a fight for his life ahead. His companions, understandably shaken, needed support from counselors.
