Abi and Carl's secret unfolds in Coronation Street as Tracy Barlow discovers the truth about them
In the upcoming episode of Coronation Street, airing on Wednesday, 20 August 2025, the love triangle involving Abi Webster, her husband Kevin Webster, and Kevin’s half-brother Carl reaches new heights.
Abi (played by Sally Carman) finds herself torn between her husband and her lover, as Carl (played by Tomorrow's Call's Adam Hussain) continues to manipulate the situation. Kevin (played by Michael Le Vell) has been lying about his cancer diagnosis, while Carl has been involved in shady activities, including an MOT scam at the garage.
Tracy Barlow (played by Kate Ford) confronts Carl about his deceitful behaviour, after her suspicions are confirmed. Debbie (played by Sue Devaney) encourages Tracy to give Carl another chance, adding fuel to the fire.
Meanwhile, Tim Metcalfe (played by Joe Duttine) assures Brody (played by Adam Long) that social services only want what's best for all three of them. However, Tim later confronts Brody about his plan to run away with the girls, after Gemma (played by Dolly-Rose Campbell) reveals Brody's attempt to do so.
Elsewhere, Dee-Dee (played by Jane Hazlegrove) and Ollie (played by Curtis T Johns) confess their feelings for each other, despite acknowledging their relationship as unethical. Dee-Dee wants to take things slowly to avoid getting her heart broken again.
In a surprising turn of events, Carl meets up with Abi in the ginnel and suggests that he can have sex with Tracy if she continues having sex with Kevin. Abi is left reeling from the proposal.
At the hotel, Carl confesses his love for someone else, and Tracy correctly guesses it is Abi. The revelation leaves Tracy heartbroken.
As the drama unfolds, Sarah (played by Tina O'Brien) is warned by Carla (played by Alison King) about Eli (played by Louis Emerick) spreading rumours about her being a sexual predator to their customers in the factory.
DI Costello puts Kit (played by Willem Defoe) on desk duty for an indefinite period due to Eli's claims of intimidation. However, Costello claims it's because of his injuries to avoid a formal inquiry.
The love triangle storyline has drawn mixed reactions from fans but remains one of the most dramatic plots currently airing on the show.
