Aaron Judge, Cal Raleigh Make MLB History in 2025 Season
Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh have made history in the 2025 MLB season. ESPN's Aaron Judge, despite an injury, has put up one of the best offensive seasons for a right-handed hitter, while Raleigh led the Seattle Mariners to their first AL West title in over two decades.
Aaron Judge, despite missing 38 games due to a right elbow flexor strain, had a season that could be considered one of the best by a right-handed hitter in MLB history, according to ESPN. He finished with a 3 in Outs Above Average and a 2 in Fielding Run Value, committing only 1 error in 95 games in right field. Judge joined an elite group of players with the most 50-homer seasons, alongside Babe Ruth, Mark McGwire, and Sammy Sosa. He also became the third player to win a batting title and hit 50 home runs in the same season, as reported by ESPN. Judge led baseball in bWAR (9.7) and every aspect of the slashline (.331/.457/.688), with an OPS of 1.144.
Aaron Judge's injury-plagued season did little to dampen his historic performance, while Cal Raleigh's power hitting led the Mariners to their first division title in over 20 years. Both players have solidified their places in baseball history.
