Autobahn 3 (A3) near Offenbach will undergo significant traffic disruptions this weekend, as bridge construction work requires a full closure. The closure, lasting from Sunday, November 2, 1:00 AM to Monday, November 3, 2:00 AM, will impact drivers heading towards Cologne.
During the closure, traffic on the A3 will be diverted via the A661 towards Oberursel. Drivers should then continue through the Bad Homburg interchange onto the A5, before rejoining the A3 at the Frankfurt interchange. Detours will be clearly marked to assist motorists.
The closure will also affect the adjacent lane in the same direction. The on-ramp from A661 (coming from Egelsbach) onto A3 towards Cologne and the off-ramp from A3 (coming from Würzburg) onto A661 towards the south will be impassable during this time. Drivers are advised to follow posted detour signs and plan their journeys accordingly.
The temporary closure is necessary for the construction of a new interchange structure and a temporary bridge will be installed to facilitate traffic during the works.
