New Music Collective Traum Waers Makes a Splash in Neustädter

Traum Waers, a vibrant new music collective based in Neustädter, is making waves in the German music scene. Comprised of five friends from Finsterwalde and Dresden, the group has already released their first single, "Mir ist so heiß," and their second EP, "Sleep," in early August.

The members of Traum Waers, Joni, Gruber, Strehlow, SLEEP, and AlinaFabienne, met in Neustädter between 2019 and 2021. The city, also known as "Düsterbusch," is renowned for its musicality, providing the perfect backdrop for their creative endeavours.

Traum Waers' music is a fusion of various influences, ranging from rap to hyper-electronic sounds. The lyrics, primarily in German, focus on themes of love, identity, and societal openness, promoting a message of freedom to love whoever one wants.

Each member contributes to the creative process, writing, singing, mixing, and mastering the music. Some members even share a home on Louisenstraße, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Gruber, one of the members, shares the collective's wish for their music and collective to grow, remain visible, and connect people. He adds, "It's a big mess, we want it to get even bigger."

The name Traum Waers, which translates to "dream waters," was inspired by the dream of having a band. SLEEP, another member, explains, "We wanted a name that represented our dreams and aspirations, and Traum Waers seemed perfect."

Traum Waers has already performed at several notable venues, including the Hall of Fame, Koralle, Chimaera Festival, and Firlefanz Festival. The collective can also be found online at www.backstagepro.de/traum-waers, on Spotify, and Instagram.

As they continue to work on a joint album and plan to release a music video, Traum Waers is living their dream as a music collective. Joni sums it up perfectly when she says, "We do it because we love it."
