Hailed as "El violonchelo de los mil acentos" (the cello with a thousand accents), Matthieu Saglio is a French sensation taking the world by storm with his innovative approach to the cello! Having honed his craft at the prestigious Conservatoire de Rennes, Matthieu boldly defies traditional boundaries by fusing classical techniques with the fiery passion of Spanish flamenco.
As the founder and frontman of Jerez-Texas, Matthieu has charmed audiences on a global scale since 2002. From there, he's continued to explore vast territories, performing solo, collaborating, and accompanying in numerous ensembles. Among these ventures, he formed the critically acclaimed trio NES, which dropped their hit album Ahlam on ACT in 2018, after three years of a successful partnership.
A passionate disponent of cross-cultural dialogue, Matthieu serves as an artist ambassador for the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation. So, get ready for an electrifying mix of genres that'll have your soul dancing and your heart yearning for more!
