A storm warning has been issued for Zabaykalsky Krai, with strong winds set to hit the region on December 2. Authorities are urging residents to take precautions as gusts of up to 20 metres per second are forecasted.
Sergey Liferenko, head of the EMERCOM Directorate in the Transbaikal Region, alerted the public via his Telegram channel. He warned that the high winds could uproot trees, topple billboards, and send unsecured objects flying.
Drivers have been advised to exercise extreme caution, as visibility and road conditions may worsen. Residents are strongly encouraged to stay indoors in secure locations and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm. In case of emergencies, people should call the unified emergency number **112** or contact the fire and rescue service directly at **101**.
The storm is expected to bring hazardous conditions, with gusts reaching 15–20 metres per second. Authorities have stressed the importance of staying indoors and following safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
