A Star from Sons of Anarchy and The Walking Dead collaborates with Bad Omens for two strange, unsettling promotional videos, causing fans to become increasingly fanatical.

Anticipation for new music from Bad Omens has been growing since photos and teaser videos posted on their social media accounts last September. On August 8, 2025, the band made an important announcement, unveiling their powerful new single "Specter" along with a cinematic music video featuring actor Ryan Hurst, known for Sons of Anarchy and The Walking Dead.

The teaser videos starring Ryan Hurst had created a buzz leading up to this reveal. In the first video, Hurst's character speaks to a child hiding under a white bedsheet with cut-out eyeholes, while the second video shows him asking why the child is hiding and wearing a mask, but the child denies hiding and refuses to take off the mask. Despite the videos not revealing the nature of the announcement or the connection to the child, they certainly increased tension and anticipation among Bad Omens fans.

"Specter" explores dark fantasy themes such as loss, betrayal, and the supernatural, co-directed by frontman Noah Sebastian. The video, along with the new single, signals a new era for the band, promising music that maintains their signature heavy, emotive, and meticulously-produced metalcore sound mixed with cinematic influences and thematic depth.

The "Specter" video is Bad Omens' first music since the 2022 RIAA Gold-certified album The Death of Peace of Mind, which amassed over 2.7 billion streams globally. Although the band has not officially confirmed if "Specter" heralds a new album, it is believed to be the first new music from Bad Omens since their 2022 album.

In a conversation with Metal Hammer in February 2024, Sebastian hinted at the direction Bad Omens' new music might take. He stated that the band's new music will be true to his personal voice and feelings, pushing their sound into bold new territory while continuing their emotive and cinematic style.

During an appearance at Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, last month, Sebastian mentioned working on albums. He also emphasized that more Bad Omens news will be released tomorrow. As fans eagerly await further updates, they can look forward to music that promises to maintain the band’s signature sound while exploring new territories.
